What is a Discovery Day anyway? In the franchising world, Discovery Days are designed to allow a franchise candidate and franchisor to meet face-to-face. For the franchise candidate, it’s a chance to take a good look around the franchisor’s headquarters and to meet the people who will be supporting him if he joins the franchise system. For the franchisor, a Discovery Day is a chance to meet the potential franchisee and to show him what a great opportunity he’s being offered.
At Midtown Chimney Sweeps, we understand that breaking out of the glass building of society and climbing your own ladder is a challenge.
That is why we have created Discovery Days. Picture this. Board a plane on Sunday, and fly to Denver, Colorado.
Monday morning you will have breakfast with our team and visit our home office. There, you will meet the staff that will be dedicated to supporting you in the field when you go home. You will spend time in the office, learning the software and seeing its unique capabilities. You will meet our Marketing experts.
Tuesday morning you will meet up with a local Midtown franchisee and will see the field operation in the real world and be able to ask all financial questions you want directly to a franchise owner. You will sweep several chimneys and discover how you will manage your field operations. Tuesday afternoon you will return to the office and go through the Franchise Disclosure Document to ensure you understand it. You will review territory maps. You will be offered to sign and pay for the territories you have selected, and then we will all go to dinner.You will learn about us and the fee structure so that you can make a sound personal decision. No pressure, just education.
Wednesday morning, we all go on a guided fly fishing trip on public waters in the beautiful Rocky Mountains (May-November). If you have never fly fished, it is no problem, our expert guide company will show you all you need to know to land some beautiful trout in a catch-and-release manner.
Our president and a whole Midtown team conduct the Discovery Days.
Discovery Days are held every month to meet demand. Our president, Byron Schramm, conducts the Discovery Day process along with a Discovery Day team. The team consists of Midtown Chimney Sweeps’s executive staff members and franchise owners and call center representatives. Our president will cover the all-important mission and vision of the company, and go through a detailed slideshow on determining the right fit of a franchisee. Each member of the team has expertise in a different area and will provide valuable information to you about launching a small business franchise. There will be discussions on software usage and reporting, marketing, and the business-in-a-box and Mayor of the Town concepts. You will ride in a Midtown Chimney Sweeps van, sweep a few chimneys, go out to dinner, go fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout in a Colorado stream, and much more in a busy three-day schedule!
The franchise training program is held at the Midtown Chimney Sweeps home office in Littleton, Colorado. The Discovery Day lasts two business days and incorporates the Midtown Chimney Sweeps Operations Manual and additional vendor materials. We look forward to hosting you soon!
